The Magic of Slow Mo…
I recently did a video project with Master Photographer, Joey Ikemoto, promoting him and his studio. The goal was to show him in action with clients, posing, laughing, lighting and the whole process of the photo shoot. We had a marvelous session with three teens, Mia, Madison and Madelane who had modeled for him many years prior when they were wee kiddos!
We got so many great photos and videos, but the cherry on the top of the session for me, was at the end when we were playing around with some new Lumix cameras and the Slow Motion feature where it can film at 120 frames per second. With each kid, we shot just 2-5 seconds and the results were stunning. The girls look like super-models with the fan blowing their hair, and Madison, the young man, was in prime form, with his “serious look”, which was only for a mere few seconds. But when we played them back for the kids, they literally beamed with confidence and amazement! Photography, video and the ability to view it right away has the most amazing power to transform people and how they see themselves!
It was such a highlight to see them stand a little taller and feel so great about how they looked in these! The great part is there is no “acting” or routines- it’s mostly just genuine smiles, slowly spreading across their faces and simultaneously lighting up the hearts of those in the room!
Tonight I created these in Photoshop CC, and added just the right music with TripleScoopMusic.com. I love how easy it is to find the perfect mood and style for each video. Music is such a mood-setter! They were each one simple clip and I trimmed them down to about 30 seconds each.
I can’t wait to post them on Facebook and Instagram to morrow and see their responses!
