The Gifting Season is upon us!

It’s November 1st, and we can officially say it is time to start thinking about gift giving for the holidays! I have to say it’s one of my favorite things to do – give gifts. There are many love-languages and gift giving is one of the most fun ones! But the art of Gift giving is more than just buying any old gift. Any gift is appreciated because of the thought it represents, but a well-chosen gift that connects with the recipient is so much more meaningful and often treasured.

Many of us really have no real needs. We are fortunate to live in a prosperous country and we literally have all we need. This often makes gift giving an even greater challenge, because we struggle to find an item that someone wants AND doesn’t already have. Being a sentimental person makes me want to give gifts that are memorable in addition to being very personal. Here are some of the gift necklaces Ive made In the past.

For many years as a professional portrait photographer, I encouraged people to “give the gift that only they can give”: portraits of the family for loved ones! Indeed, portraits of your loved ones ARE some of the most treasured gifts we can receive! But what if the kids are all grown and you’re the one who wants to receive those? Or what if portraits are not your thing, but you love photographing flowers or landscapes or graphic designs? Maybe you love quotes and creative inspiration! Well, there’s a thousand wonderful ways to use your Visual Voice and share your vision as gifts! Gifts that you give to loved ones, OR, if you are an entrepreneur, maybe it’s ones you sell to other gift- givers!

Honestly a picture can say so much especially when it is chosen carefully or caringly… add in words and it becomes fabulous word-art, the latest rage in gifting! (remember, using words only, if creatively crafted, serve as wonderful art too!)
