LIGHT on Location! NANlites go everywhere

On the Road with NANLITES!  Continuous Light with Continuous Success!

The Nanlites have been marvelous to work with on the #bubbletrailerlighttour especially since they are portable and compact enough to travel with and we can easily shoot with them on location! The quality of light in shape, and brightness and color quality (CRI) is unmatched. What’s even more exciting, is the fact that they can be battery powered when you are in the landscape with no electricity!

One of the biggest advantages I see with the Nanlites is how they have one large point of light instead of a panel of pin-lights. Often, the panel lights show as a freckled light in catchlights and even have a different light fall-off than a strobe in a softbox. With the Nanlites, we can use the soft boxes and get a perfect portrait-quality of light.  Nanlite Instagram video

 

 Lighting is key to obtaining that professional edge to visibly set ourselves apart from the competition! I’m super excited to get home and start using them for Headshots because finally, we have a Continuous Light with ideal brightness AND quality of light to work with!

Location Portraits

We photographed a family inside the home (and after dark), since we got rained out, and the Nanlites were ideal for lighting up the entire room with gorgeous [studio quality] light. We were able to shoot well into the evening, too, getting everything they needed including biz headshots and extended family portraits!

 

Group shots

Another advantage is how bright the Nanlites are, so even if we shoot in day light, they are still adequate to fill in the shadows on this huge group to balance with a bright background–Or controllable enough to use in the evening and balance the moodlights

This would be perfect for a wedding, with reception dancing and fun… can’t wait to use them for our next wedding. We always shoot video at weddings because it is such a marvelous storyteller and we make interactive albums with Live Portrait!

 

Video light for commercial use

When it comes to producing quality films for online videos and marketing videos, two factors are vital: Lighting and Audio. Using the Forza 60, we were able to light up our subjects inside their offices for interviews and got great audio as well, with our Saramonic mics.

While some of these images could have been done with a flash, the videos require continuous lighting. Im finding the more I use continuous light the more I love it and now with NANLITES, it is bright enough to replace even the flash in most situations. This simplifies the process and allows me to carry one set of lights to accomplish whatever I need.
