“Bring Your Creativity to Life”

One of the things I did during the pandemic is paint a new body of work. I have been photographing for creative art purposes for quite a while, but the “art for fun” process, just goes to the back burner all too often! I gathered up some of my favorite images; ones I had dreamed of making wall art with, and decided to finally decorate my home with them.

Little seaside towns just delight me, and anything to do with the ocean and beach certainly is on my Let’s-Do list! So I knew my beach excursions would be ideal for art! A few years ago I joined some friends in Cambria, California for a few days and had a wonderful time exploring a tiny town just south of there called Harmony. Yes it IS tiny, with a total population of 18!

The entire town consists of about 6 buildings; a café, post office, Chapel, pottery shop, and glass-blowing gallery/store/workshop! We marveled at the amazing colorful glass and enjoyed watching the men working with the kiln melting the glass and creating gorgeous vases before our very eyes. Every eye in the gallery was fixed on them as they twirled the red-hot melted glass in the fiery belly of the kiln!

After we enjoyed the fascinating glass-making process, we went back to town, where the retail store is located in downtown Cambria. There we saw so many unique and colorful glass sculptures, vases, art and more! I was taken by the glass globes (yes I am a circle freak) and took some pictures and videos.

For some reason, the images of the globes stuck with me for years. I always dreamed of doing something significant with them. So, I finally painted them and then I was smitten. Yes, this is the image I want to hang on my livingroom wall. (really big….)

I printed a small one (8×12) to test out the metallic canvas (it was awesome!) and then chose the perfect frame. Bay Photo has a marvelous selection of modern and classic frames. I ordered my 40” framed wall portrait and I couldn’t be happier. (see how it looks in video above).
