Freedom to Create!

We were hired to do a selection of interviews for TNT Fireworks as a “thank you reel” for their partner, Walmart. It is a huge benefit for TNT to be able to put their booths in the Walmart parking lots, and they made a video showing them the Good that comes of it with all the fundraising for worthy causes. We did this last year too, and so for a little creativity and fun this year, I decided to take it up a notch and do a FUN-REEL! Just a short video of everyone celebrating and simply having fun for 2-3 seconds!

I actually expected some resistance to the idea– asking them to put on goofy glasses and jump around hollering like crazy people! But surprisingly, it turned out to be a huge hit! Everyone wanted to be involved and everyone was more than willing to don a fun hat or flashing glasses and wave that American Flag like a patriotic fool! I LOVED it that everyone had fun with it!

And here is the finished result. Pure and simple, “Join us– we love to have fun”! It’s actually a great statement to make for a company like TNT whose focus is on making the 4th more FUN, and what better medium to show it and share it than a video?!

So today’s creativity topic is a challenge! Take what you usually do, or what you are assigned to do, or what is expected of you and think, “How can I creatively make this better or more engaging and appealing?” Go the extra mile and see what comes of it! No fear here because there’s no performance requirements or expectations! Just a personal project to stretch your creativity and storytelling skills! Who knows where it will take you –and your vision!
