Beachy Video Story (and How-To)

 A peaceful morning…

So I went out to Nye Beach in Newport Oregon while we were staying for the week of Thanksgiving and visiting with family. I just had to make a little video, (with the new Lumix G95),  edit in iMovie and then record a video on HOW to do it!  Not too hard- Just in between visits and rainy afternoons. The morning had promised to be clear- so I took off early before the sun got too high. I wanted to film a short introduction of me in the shade, and I barely made it in time!

I filmed my intro by the gallery, and then trotted off to the shore to see what I could find. I took my LUMIX G95 with me around my neck and the LUMIX G9 on a tripod to film me shooting- you know, just in case I wanted some b-roll of me being chased by the waves. (I love it that I can shoot my own videos with face detection and body recognition!)

I only spent about an hour there and I used about 75% of the short clips I took. Simple shots of the water, the sky, the dogs, the surf. Such a peaceful morning! Back at the house, I downloaded the cards while drinking some coffee and I sat down to refresh my memory on using iMovie, since it had been a couple years. Dang! That was easy! It came together to be such sweet little story—made me want to go back and just hang out there a bit longer!

But the real reason I did it was for this: the How-To video on making a short film in iMovie! And I’m just so proud of it! In 3 minutes, you can learn how to make a video in iMovie and add music and export and everything! Gotta admit, this was seriously fun, easy and it makes me smile!
